Not only that, but as this runner is reversible it gives you the choice of colours to suit your taste and sense of style, or even to mix and match depending on your mood!This reversible floor carpet runner is made using a flatweave technique and is made for maximum durability. A flatweave is more commonly known as a basketweave. Traditionally, flatweave carpets are made using a natural fibre such as Sisal or Wool. However, this carpet is made using a man-made fibre (Polypropylene) that is a fraction of the price of a naturally made carpet, however just as durable. Due to the cleverly woven construction of this pile, this is great for pets as the runner is indestructible. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product; this means that it is suitable in high traffic areas in your home

Where to lay your runner

Common hallway layouts, seen from above. We cut the runner to fit your hall.

Narrow terraced hallway

Start it just past the front door's swing and run it to the back of the hall, so the door never catches the edge.

Hallway beside the stairs

Run it along the open side of the stairs, the line everyone walks from the front door to the kitchen.

Hall with furniture on one side

Shift it towards the open side so it follows your walking line, not the middle of the room.

Wide entrance hall

Centre it on the front door with an even border of floor each side, so it frames the space.

Upstairs landing

Run it the length of the landing past every bedroom door, to quieten footsteps at night.

L-shaped hallway, two runners

Give each leg its own runner with a small gap at the corner, so neither one overlaps the other.

Open-plan entrance

Lay it from the front door through the room, so it marks out a hallway where there's no wall.

Long apartment corridor

Order one runner the full length, up to 30 metres, so there are no joins to trip over.

Will a hall runner slip on hard floors?

It can on wood, laminate and vinyl, unless you add anti-slip. Tick Add anti-slip underlay and we'll cut anti-slip underlay to match your runner size. That keeps it flat and reduces sliding. You can also browse our anti-slip hall runners.

Can I get a custom length?

Yes. We cut every hall runner to your chosen size. Choose your length and width and we'll take care of the rest.

How long should my hall runner be?

Measure the hall, then leave about 10 to 20cm of floor showing at each end so doors can open over it. This is completely up to your preference and is just a recommendation.

How wide should my hall runner be?

Measure the hall from side to side. Leave 5 to 15cm of floor showing on each side. 60cm to 80cm wide is usually the sweet spot for most hallways. You can read more in our how to measure for a rug runner guide.

Can I put a hall runner over existing carpet?

You can... but, expect the runner to shift on top of long or soft carpet piles. We recommend laying runners on hard floors with anti-slip underlay for the most secure placement.
