Product Description

Suitable for outdoor and indoor use the flexible nature of this runner means that it can be used in any area of your home or in the garden. Not only that, but as this runner is reversible it gives you the choice of colours to suit your taste and sense of style, or even to mix and match depending on your mood! This reversible floor carpet runner is made using a flatweave technique and is made for maximum durability. A flatweave is more commonly known as a basketweave. Traditionally, flatweave carpets are made using a natural fibre such as Sisal or Wool. However, this carpet is made using a man-made fibre (Polypropylene) that is a fraction of the price of a naturally made carpet, however just as durable. Due to the cleverly woven construction of this pile, this is great for pets as the runner is indestructible. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product; this means that it is suitable in high traffic areas in your home

Stair runner questions, answered

How long should my stair runner be?

Count your steps, then measure one tread and one riser. Use the “What size do I need?” button and we will do the maths for you, we also add 10% for wastage, then round up to the next 30cm we cut. The full method is also in our how to measure guide.

How wide should my stair runner be?

Measure the tread from side to side. Most people leave 5 to 15cm of stair showing on each side, 60cm to 80cm is the sweet spot for most customers. For a full-width look, pick the nearest width to the tread.

Do I need underlay for a stair runner?

Whilst it is not essential, we highly recommend it. It cushions each step, quietens footsteps and helps the runner last. Tick Add stair runner underlay, enter your number of steps, and we send the matching pad and gripper pack. See our guide to installing the pack on our how to fit underlay and gripper page.

Can I fit a stair runner myself?

Yes. Most of our customers install their own stair runner. Follow our step by step how to fit a stair runner guide. If your stairs wind or turn, this is a bit trickier, we always recommend getting advice from a professional local flooring installer before you order for a winding staircase.

Can I put a stair runner over existing carpet?

You can, but we recommend taking the old carpet up and fitting straight to the staircase for a more secure fit and a cleaner finish. A thick or soft carpet pile can make the runner shift on top of it. Read more in our stair runner over carpet guide.

Do I need stair rods with a stair runner?

No, stair rods aren’t essential. Stair rods are a decorative extra, we recommend rods if you’re looking for a more premium and finished look. You can read our step-by-step how to fit stair rods guide if you do opt for that finishing touch.
