What’s more, these hacks are super easy and use nothing but general household staples to save you some time and a few dollars!

So, how do you remove carpet dents?

Furniture dents can be undone, so have a go at some of these ideas to make your furniture rearranging that little bit easier. Let’s kick things off with something cool.

1.With Ice Cubes (yeah by cool, we really meant cool!)

What you will Need:

• Ice Cubes
• Sponge
• Spoon

Step 1: Make sure that you have a couple of ice cubes to hand, so if you know that you’re going to be rearranging and moving furniture fill up your ice cube tray the night before!. Then simply pop the ice cubes into the carpet dent and wait for them to melt.

Step 2: Once the ice cubes have melted, make sure you have your sponge ready for action so that you’re able to absorb the excess liquid. Use the soft side of your sponge so that you don’t ruin the pile of your carpet. You’re probably going to think we sound like your Mom, but dab … don't rub!

Step 3: Now to get the spoon involved! Gently lift the fibers with the spoon until they’re standing upright and look closer to their original state.

Okay, so that’s how to get dents out of carpet with ice cubes (who knew?!). If your carpet fibers are too wet, use a blow dryer to dry them off and use your fingers, or the spoon, to loosen them up (being gentle to ensure you don’t damage them). You also want to make sure that you don't use too much heat too close to the carpet, as this can actually damage the carpet that you’ve spent so long repairing!

2. With an Iron

What you will Need:

• Damp towel
• Iron

Step 1: Place a damp towel over the carpet dent, making sure that it covers the entire dented area.

Step 2: Check that your iron is on the cotton or wool setting and gently apply pressure to the area.

Step 3: Lift the towel once you feel as though the steam from the iron has, more or less, dried out the towel. Then you should have a beautiful, dent-free carpet, woohoo!
And that’s how to remove carpet dents with an iron. We should add, however, that you shouldn’t leave your iron unattended or left to rest on the carpet for a prolonged period of time, because then you will definitely have a mark that you will struggle to get out!

3. With a Blow Dryer

What you will Need:

• Water spray bottle
• Blow Dryer

Step 1: Fill the bottle with water and spray the affected area(s). If you don’t have one of these, save a bottle that has a head appropriate for spraying, rinse and then fill with water!

Step 2: Blow dry heat onto the carpet dents and use your fingers to carefully lift the fibers.

And that’s it! This one’s pretty straight forward and kind of speaks for itself, but be sure not to use too much liquid on the carpet dent, otherwise it’s going to be a really long and tough job drying out all that excess water.

And finally…

If none of these tricks seem to work with the items that you have in your home, then you could always try buying yourself a carpet brush. Gently pull the brush over the carpet dent and repeat as many times as you see fit until you have removed the dent from the carpet. But to save yourself a buck or two, have a go at these methods first, you’ll get a surprise at how well they work!
