All of our stair runners are available in any length and several widths.
To determine the length you need for your staircase, you should measure the riser and tread of your first step and then multiply this by the amount of steps you have. We recommend adding 10% on to this amount to give you your final figure. This ensures enough product when fitting as each step can very slightly and also, shaping the runner over each 'bull nose' may use slightly more product.
To determine the width, this mainly comes down to personal preference depending on how much of the staircase you would like to be visible either side of the runner. We recommend leaving 10cm (~4 inches) either side of your runner. For example, if your staircase is 80cm (~2ft 8in) wide, we would recommend a 60cm (~2ft) runner.

This Stair carpet runner is a twist pile which has been constructed with a 2 ply yarn. A twist pile is the most commonly used style of carpet manufacturing. This carpet runner is a cut pile, this essentially means that each tuft stands individually and if one tuft was to come loose then it would not affect the tuft next to it. A cut pile is a very popular choice for pet owners, as the pet's claws can not catch the pile, unlike a loop pile which could potentially snag if a loop was caught by a claw.
The pile of this carpet runner is quite close, this makes the carpet less prone to flattening or crushing. It has been classified as a heavy domestic product, this means that it is suitable for high traffic areas in all domestic locations, especially the Stair.
This Stair runner has a latex gel backing which makes it non-slip on hard floorings such as Wood, Vinyl or Ceramic Tiles. It is also anti-slip on carpet but the effectiveness depends on the thickness of the carpet it is sat on. The thicker the carpet, the less effective it will be. Whilst being non-slip, the backing is also 100% waterproof and rot proof. This ensures that the carpet will not shrink or wrinkle once it dries out from being wet. This floor carpet runner is ideal for Stairs, kitchens and caravans.
The texture of this carpet is soft, smooth and comfortable to walk on. Whilst being soft and smooth, it is very durable and practical. The carpet is made using a fibre called Polyamide. Polyamide is a man-made fibre that has good properties and advantages. This carpet runner is stain resistant and resistant to fading from the UV sunlight. It is anti-static and moth proof. The product has a low radius of ignition and has been hot nut tested to comply with (BS 4790).
This is one of the best gel backed runners that we sell at Runrug.com. If you want a lovely quality product that feels great and will last for many years, then this is the product for you.
