All of our stair runners are available in any length and several widths.
To determine the length you need for your staircase, you should measure the riser and tread of your first step and then multiply this by the amount of steps you have. We recommend adding 10% on to this amount to give you your final figure. This ensures enough product when fitting as each step can very slightly and also, shaping the runner over each 'bull nose' may use slightly more product.
To determine the width, this mainly comes down to personal preference depending on how much of the staircase you would like to be visible either side of the runner. We recommend leaving 10cm (~4 inches) either side of your runner. For example, if your staircase is 80cm (~2ft 8in) wide, we would recommend a 60cm (~2ft) runner.

A stair runner is a piece that designers rely on time and time again to transform a home and make your space sing. The Gingham tweed beige stair runner is a firm favourite due to its neutral and adaptable design. Its beige colorway means it's just as home in a period property as it is in a modern duplex apartment. It's a classic fabric that will always be in style.
The Gingham tweed stair runner is exceptionally well made and its construction involves a complex flatweave technique which prioritises durability. A flatweave is more commonly known as a basketweave. Traditionally, flatweave carpets are made using a natural fiber such as Sisal or Wool. However, this carpet is constructed using a man made fiber (Polypropylene) which is why we can provide it at such a reasonable price.
For your safety, this runner has a latex, gel backing which means it will not only endure less wear and tear but it stays put underfoot. This design won't win any prizes for comfort but unlike the kitchen or the living room, a plush surface isn't as essential here. Crafted from Polypropylene, this stair runner is 100% bleach proof, fade resistant and stain resistant which means it's very easy to care for. It is also anti-static and moth proof. It has a low radius of ignition and has been hot nut tested to comply with (BS 4790).
