WE HAVE MADE THE FINALS OF THE NATIONAL BUSINESS AWARDS
We’re proud to say that we’ve been announced as a finalist for three national business awards, adding to its recent business accolade success.
runrug.com has been shortlisted for the ‘Amazon Digital Business of the Year’ Award at the 2016 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards due to be announced in November and also the ‘Best Home & Garden, DIY & Tools’ and ‘Small Business of the Year’ in the eCommerce Awards which will be announced in September.
At runrug.com we specialise in supplying hallway, stair and event aisle runners. Founded by Managing Director, Myles Shaw in 2011, runrug.com is now the UK’s largest online carpet runner retailer with a turnover of £1 million. Earlier this year, Myles was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2016 Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards.
The National Business Awards, which have been described as “the Oscars of great British business” by former Prime Minister David Cameron, received hundreds of entries, businesses and nominations across its 18 award categories. Carpet Runners UK and the other finalists shortlisted will now prepare for live presentations to an expert judging panel who will decide the overall winners.
The eCommerce Awards recognise the very best online retailers as well as online companies, agencies, innovations, products and campaigns from the ecommerce industry. Being shortlisted again for these awards is a major achievement for runrug.com who faced competition from major household names.
Myles Shaw, Managing Director of runrug.com said: “This is amazing news, I just can’t believe we have made these three shortlists which comes on the back of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in May. The business is going from strength to strength, and it wouldn’t be possible without the fantastic team of people that I have behind me. To win either of these awards would simply be the icing on the cake for what promises to be our best year to date.”
Tom Broughton, Group Brand Director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, said: “Due to the high number of entries for this years’ awards, narrowing the entries down to 140 finalists was a difficult task. But through a thorough and comprehensive judging process, the selected finalists demonstrate exceptional quality and diversity across a range of business sectors within the UK. We are now looking forward to the next step of the process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”
